Meet
Christiane Meunier

Christiane Meunier has been a passionate quilter for over 13 years. The twelve quilting books she has written reflect that passion. Among them are "Easy Art Quilts", "Colorful Quilts" and "Strip Easy." In fact, a day rarely goes by when Christiane isn't completely immersed in some aspect of quilting.

Christiane enjoys all kinds of quilts - from traditional to contemporary - but is especially inspired by those with a strong sense of color. This was apparent from her Art Quilts exhibit, which was displayed at the 2000 International Quilt Festival.

Christiane is also a world traveler, but when she's not on the road, she resides in her studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - where you're likely to find her busy making quilts!

	"Black Butterfly" (48" x 64") I made this quilt during a painful period of deep transformation. It is my version of "with that much manure, there's got to be a pony in there!" (Quilted by Joanie Keith - Pattern: Half-square Triangle)
"Demeter's Well" (61" x 78 3/4") Demeter in Greek mythology is the nurturing mother. At one point in the story, she sits by a well to grieve the loss of her daughter, Persephone, who was abducted b Hades, the lord of the underworld. I made this quilt to honor all the generations of mothers who have grieved the loss of their children's innocence. (Quilted by Shelly Knapp)
	"Weaving Around the Block" (73 1/2" x 87 1/2") This was just a great idea...there was no deep emotional meaning attached to it...it worked...it looks like weaves. It looks complicated, but it is so easy and fast...a real deal! (Quilted by Terri Birchard - Pattern: Log Cabin)
