Church Block, diagram 1 Lay a 2" x 5" blue print strip on a 2" x 3 1/2" brown print rectangle, aligning the edges. Draw a diagonal line on the blue print strip connecting the corners, as shown. Sew on the drawn line.

Trim the corner 1/4" beyond the stitching line. Press the seam allowance toward the blue print.

Church Block, diagram 2
Lay the remaining 2" x 5" blue print strip on the other end of the brown print rectangle and draw a diagonal line, as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim and press, as before to complete section A. Set it aside.
Church Block, diagram 3 Sew a 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" light print rectangle between the 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" blue print rectangles to make section B, as shown. Set it aside.

Church Block, diagram 4

Sew a light print triangle to the blue print A to make a pieced triangle. Sew the remaining light print triangle to the blue print AR.
Church Block, diagram 5 Sew the pieced triangles to the brown print B to make section C, as shown. Set it aside.
Church Block, diagram 6 Sew a 1 1/2" light print square to each end of a 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" gold print strip. Sew a 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" light print strip to the pieced unit to make a window unit. Make 2.
Church Block, diagram 7 Sew the window units to opposite sides of the 5 1/2" light print square to make section D, as shown.
Church Block, diagram 8 Lay out sections A, B, C and D. Join the sections. Sew the 2" x 12 1/2" blue print strips to the sides.
Church Block, diagram 9 Trace pattern C on the freezer paper. Cut the seam allowance off the curved edge.

Place the freezer paper C, shiny side down, on the wrong side of the red print C, aligning the bottom edges.

Press the freezer paper to the red print C. Press the seam allowance of the curved edge toward the wrong side along the edge of the freezer paper. Remove the paper.

Pin the door to the church, aligning the bottom edges. Appliqué the door to the church. You may wish to trim the seam allowance in the curves  to reduce bulk.
