PIECING
- Lay out 5 first dark print A's and 4 medium print A's. Sew them into horizontal rows and
join the rows to make a Nine Patch.
- Sew a light print B to each side of the Nine Patch to make a Square-in-a-Square.
- Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of a light print C. Lay the
light print C on a second dark print C, right sides together, and sew 1/4" from the
line on both sides. Make 4.
- Cut each square on the drawn line. You will have 8 pieced squares. Press the seam
allowance toward the dark print
- Sew a second dark print D to adjacent sides of a pieced square to make a pieced
triangle, as shown. Make 8.
- Sew pieced triangles to adjacent sides of a medium print E. Make 4.
- Sew these units to the sides of the Square-in-a-Square to complete the Summer's Dream
block.
