Previous Block of the Month: Strippy Heart A Fabric Valentine! Karen Rogowski of Meshoppen, Pennsylvania, found a Strippy Heart block (12" x 12") among her grandmother's quilting projects. After measuring all the strips and drafting her own pattern, Karen used the block in a quilt for her daughter's waterbed. "This was my first real quilt," she explains proudly. BLOCK SIZE: 12" square MATERIALS Yardage is estimated for 44" fabric.
PREPARATION
NOTE: Depending on the width of your fabric and the amount of waste you incur while cutting strips, you may need to cut a third white strip. CUTTING Cut the following pieces from the 1 1/2" strips. All dimensions include 1/4" seam allowance and can be cut exactly as specified. After cutting, stack the pieces for each row separately. Row 1:
