Previous Block of the Month: Shooting Star

Stitch this playful block with your brightest fabrics.

Piecing "Shooting Star" is easy and quick. Partial seaming makes it possible to sew spinning parts around a center pieced square. Bright prints create a lively look in this block, but it would also look great in plaids or solids. Make a block today, just for fun!

  • Sew a yellow print A to a pieced triangle, as shown. Make 4.
  • Lay out the center square and pieced units, as shown.

  • Sew the center section to the upper right pieced unit, as shown. Press the seam allowance toward the pieced unit.
  • Sew the center section to the lower right pieced unit, as shown.
